Hooting

What a hoot!

Two different conversations between “owls” to act as models for students speaking “owl”.  Owls only respond to other owls  –so students are encouraged to use their high-singing voice.  A fun exercise to encourage voice exploration.

Hellos x2

Three vocal warm-ups encorporating many langauges.

Three vocal warm-ups use a variety of languages to sing “Hello”.  Learn from the mp3s or mp4s, then invite students to become leaders in their own language of birth.

Follow The Leader

Geese, sheep, ants –what kind of line will you be in?

Walk to a sprightly beat while adding additional body movements.  Photos on the mp4 could make for an interesting classroom discussion about just what kind of line students usually follow  —geese, sheep?  Add a few hand drums or other percussion on the beat.

Autumn Leaves

Twirl and whirl with the falling leaves in a Canadian autumn.

Sing about Canadian autumn while the flute plays a twirling harmony.  For Grade 1 students, the mp3/4 provide opportunities to sing a familiar tune while recorded voices sing the round.  Grade 2 students may be ready to sing the round.
